KL Rahul’s Profile | Achievements & Career Stats
Kannur Lokesh Rahul, popularly known as KL Rahul, is one of the most stylish and versatile cricketers in contemporary Indian cricket. Born on April 18, 1992, in Mangaluru, Karnataka, Rahul’s journey from a promising domestic player to a key figure in the national team is marked by resilience, adaptability, and immense talent. Known for his elegant batting technique and calm demeanor, Rahul has evolved into a dependable player across all three formats of the game—Test, ODI, and T20.
He trained at the prestigious National Institute of Sports (NIS) in Bangalore and rose through the ranks in Karnataka’s age-group cricket. His early domestic performances, especially for Karnataka in the Ranji Trophy, drew attention due to his solid technique and composure at the crease. In the 2013-14 Ranji season, Rahul scored over 1,000 runs, which helped him earn a spot in the Indian Test squad for the tour of Australia in 2014.
His classical batting style made him a natural fit for red-ball cricket. However, over time, Rahul proved he was more than just a Test specialist. He demonstrated remarkable adaptability, transitioning seamlessly into white-ball cricket, where his stroke play and timing stood out.
